Paramount Pictures has acquired screen rights to the Colleen Houck novel Tiger’s Curse. Mary Parent will produce through her Disruption Entertainment banner with Raphael Kryszek. The novel is about a 17-year-old girl who takes a temp job caring for a white tiger at the local circus and sets off on an epic adventure when she discovers the tiger is a cursed Indian prince who turns into a man for only 24 minutes per day. Their quest to end the curse leads them through exotic locales in India and brushes with Hindu gods and goddesses. Houck originally self-published the title on Kindle Books; after it reached No. 1 on the bestseller fiction list, the book was published by Splinter and is currently near the top of the New York Times Children’s list. The book has been translated into 15 languages.

130+ VFX shots ranging from the ethereal to Gothic noir were required to realize this stunning video for the Chilean band Kudai.  Juxtaposing ethereal imagery with scenes from a Gothic noir narrative, this video for Chilean recording artists Kudai required more than 130 VFX shots, all of which were executed by Clifton Post. The video, written and directed by Darren Fanton and produced by Ringleader Productions for EMI Latin America, was shot entirely on a green screen stage with no sets. The wizards of POC handled all the VFX, beauty, and color-timing on the project, working under a two-week turnaround schedule.

Stuart Wilson | Founder + Executive Producer

Creativity and his passion for the art of storytelling have culminated in numerous award-winning campaigns. He now brings his talents to Proof of Concept, a tech driven content company creating immersive innovative experiences.

Stuart Wilson’s experience spans brand vision, strategic positioning, new business development, deal making, project development, management, execution and delivery. He has led multidisciplinary teams in campaigns for agencies such as DDB Chicago, Saatchi, JWT, TBWA Chiat-Day and Digitas, delivering content for clients as diverse as Ford, Toyota, Nissan, GM, Coors, Playstation, Pioneer, Seadoo, Mattel, Macy’s, Petco, Elmers, and Dupont.

His career began in the entertainment industry, after meeting Miramax Pictures founder Harvey Weinstein at a tennis club on Martha’s Vineyard in 1990. Weinstein’s subsequent recommendation landed Stuart his first job in development at Hearst Entertainment. He then stage-managed for Prince on his rock opera, “Ulysses”, starring Carmen Electra and worked in production on Barbara Kopple’s, “A Century of Women”, Bryan Singer’s “The Usual Suspects” and on the first season of MADtv. Simultaneously, he was working in music video and commercial production for iconic companies like Propaganda, Harmony, GMS, Dektor-Higgins and RSA.

A veteran of over twenty years in the film industry, Stuart founded Right Brain Media, Inc. (RBM) in 1995. Having produced nearly a thousand commercials for some of the world’s largest advertisers (and some of the smallest, too), the company grew to become one of the industry’s leading production companies with yearly gross billings in excess of ten million dollars. Stuart has been acknowledged by his peers for creating content that influences cultural change, builds organizational effectiveness and propels revenue growth. Work that Stuart was responsible for producing, has been recognized with many advertising awards including, the Clio, the Emmy, the Belding and the Addy.

Leaving RBM in 2007 to focus on alternative media and the changing conversation between brands and consumers, Stuart immersed himself in Digital Production, Social Media and Interactive Experiential marketing. In 2009, he launched Image Lab, Inc., and in 2011, he merged this company with Clifton Post to form Proof of Concept, nurturing talent through the prism of technology and advancing technology in the execution of ambitious projects across all platforms

Thinking beyond traditional marketing platforms, POC will create content for broadcast as well as online rich media, mobile applications and other interactive platforms, devising solutions to help brands reach consumers in more compelling and unique ways.

One of Hollywood’s most watched young talents.  Recently Paramount acquired screen rights to the Colleen Houck novel, Tiger’s Curse, which Kryszek will produce with Mary Parent, through Disruption Entertainment.

The success of Clifton Production Services, which he founded in 2007, was followed by the creation of Ineffable Pictures, formed in 2010 to oversee long-form content from inception through distribution. He received his first Emmy nomination this year, as producer of the Fox Movie Channel original program “Writerʼs Draft.”  In August of 2011, he partnered with commercial veteran Stuart Wilson to launch Proof of Concept, a technology-driven content company servicing the commercial and music video industries. Thinking beyond traditional marketing platforms, POC will create content for broadcast as well as online rich media, mobile applications and other interactive solutions to help brands reach consumers in more compelling and unique ways.

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Raffi moved to Los Angeles to attend the prestigious University of Southern California, where he minored in Cinema and Philosophy, and majored in Political Science. Following college, Raffi worked in physical production at New Line Cinema, worked numerous jobs with various independent films [in development and distribution] and worked for NBC-Universalʼs E!, The Style Network, and G4 for six years.

In 2007, Raffi founded Clifton Production Services LLC. The company provides clients with the ability to follow a project from the conception through to final delivery, without the need to step outside of the facility. Services offered include post supervision, editing, graphics, mixing, finishing, high-end visual FX, 3D modeling, animation, color timing and more. The company has provided services for notable projects including music videos for artists like Nelly, Jack Johnson, Kid Rock, Flo Rida, Akon, and Britney Spears to name a few. Raffi also has produced Television projects through Clifton, including “Fox Legacy”, which airs on the Fox Movie Channel.

In 2010, Raffi founded Ineffable Pictures. “Clifton has been facilitating the production of other peopleʼs content for years, and Ineffable is a natural evolution for us,” he explains. “Moreover, it has always been important to us to have some ʻownershipʼ over content, to eventually build a library with real value. The projects we are now working on at Ineffable will accomplish this, on both the theatrical and television fronts.” In 2011, Ineffable Pictures optioned the rights to New York Times Bestselling book series “Tigerʼs Curse” by Colleen Houck. In addition to “Tigerʼs Curse,” Ineffable Pictures is also developing other theatrical and television projects, and is Executive Producing the upcoming action comedy feature film IN SECURITY written by Adam Beamer, Evan Beamer, and Craig Hildebrand. Notable cast for this film includes Vinnie Jones, Ethan Embry, Michael Gladis, and Cary Elwes.

“Writer’s Draft,” the non-fiction program for which Raffi received his Emmy nod, examined the screenwriterʼs process and emotional journey from concept to screen. Raffi notes that his passion and drive for the entertainment business comes from his love of both the art, and commerce of storytelling. “Itʼs extremely fulfilling to not only to create for creationʼs sake,” he states, “but to tell a story that is compelling to a wide range of people who are excited to experience our product.”
Electronic Arts - Mass Effect

This promo for EA's Mass Effect 3 called for the CG destruction of San Francisco, among other things. Used to open Electronic Art's segment of E3 2011, this Mass Effect promo follows news reports from across the globe chronicling a horrific alien invasion. Among the many VFX elements created by POC is a 15-second shot of an apocalyptic futuristic San Francisco being descended upon and destroyed by alien warships. More than a dozen photographs were taken from Sausalito Vista Point and stitched together, creating a 21k x 21k pixel matte painting for a dramatic zoom on a building being destroyed.

Honoring Fox Legacy

Fox Legacy, the popular show hosted by (Chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment) Tom Rothman, examines landmark 20th Century Fox films and provides insight about how these notable films were created. Produced by Emmy nominee Raphael Kryszek and shot by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Jack Green, the show is filmed on a sound stage, where Mr. Rothman is backed by large free-standing screens displaying relevant content.

The studio wanted the flexibility to manipulate this content in post, making practical projection during principal photography impossible. The production was further complicated by the need to pull multiple framing options (tight, medium, and wide) from a moving camera on a single take. To accomplish this, we shot on a Red One in 4k and extrapolated various framing options since final delivery was in 720p. Moreover, the studio required a degree of improvisation and flexibility in the camera movement that prohibited the use of a motion control rig to yield tracking data. Thus our VFX team, led by Sam Kryszek, utilized Buju back at our studio to yield 3d tracking data that later went to our Nuke artists for compositing.
